The Result!
The Result! Obama: 364 McCain: 174. After all this time, we have the outcome of the 44th U.S President. Barack Obama, the first black President of the United States of America! Here's hoping he will lead America and the world to a better, brighter future! I personally wanted Obama, but I am sorry to the McCain supporters, he was a good candidate and should not have been booed off on his last speech(despite what Fox claims, this is true). I hope everyone is placing their vote on the poll we have, it ends on new year and it would be nice to know who you are all supporting!

I agree. McCain tried very hard in this campaign and he didn't let his old age slow him down. He's a tough old bird and he fought to the very end.
Some of McCain's bad moves: He should have promised to govern as a fiscal conservative and a social moderate or social moderate-liberal (if that makes any sense). The American public would not tolerate anything further to the right than that today. But he instead voted for the $700 billion bailout, which did not set him apart from his tax and spend liberal opponent. He was not in favor of a tax cut for Americans earning $250,000+/year. He was in favor of legalizing illegal immigrants and bailout mortgages. He wasn't even clear on what programs he would cut. And Sarah Palin was a poor choice for a running mate. He should have chosen Colin Powell. Who knows? Maybe he could have convinced Hillary Clinton to run with him...? It's too bad. McCain loves America and he certainly proved his loyalty to the country 40 years ago.
Many thanks to the blogger for this evening's BBC TV interview. I enjoyed it.
