Once again I have neglected this website, making false promises to make more posts. I've decided to try to make the occasional post, maybe once a week, which might be linked to off www.enduringamerica.com. My first new post will be on the question, has Obama done well or not in his first 100 days.
This is very simple as you can easily relate it to another post I did a long time ago, a post about how after winning the election, people had very high expectations of Obama. I mentioned Obama's changes to America should be measured over 1000 days, not 100. So far he hasn't had time to do anything big, and has so far only explained what he is going to do, and done some small things.
We still need to wait a while longer before we can decide wether Obama has done well or not.
There is also the case of swine flu. You might have seen the post in Enduring America. The Swine flu has spread through Mexico, infecting large numbers of people. Some people are dying, and many worry that this is the beginning of a Pandemic. 11 people are infected in England, so England should be safe for a while longer. Mexico and the states of America bordering America are becoming heavily infected.
A few more people are going to die from the disease, but there isn't much to do except try to stop it from spreading. But a pandemic? I don't think so.

We're sorry, you're not actually President.
The Inaugaration, at least a million people came to witness Barack Obama becoming the first black president of the United States. That was the whole point of all of it, and guess what happened? They messed it up. This might be news to you, but there was actually a word out of sequence, meaning that he could continue, but if somebody mentioned the fact, then it would be an awkward situation as it is true.
So just to be on the safe side they did it again yesterday, except with a smaller crowd. There were reporters there, but not with a million people like on Tuesday. A bit annoying to everyone who was there no doubt, but he's President and everyone there did witness his brilliant speech, so it's not that bad.
Guantanomo bay is an extremely harsh prison camp, and Obama has promised to close it down. He has already brought the trials of the Guantanomo bay detainees to a full stop already and hopes that the facility will be shut down completely by the end of this year.
I'm sure all of us will see Obama's promises carried out soon, people are going to have to be patient. I ask, what is Obama going to promise next? An end to the death penalty?
Keep on waiting and soon we can find out.

Obama is in.
Obama was inaugarated yesterday and became the 44th president of the United States, as well as the first Black President, and according to Conservapedia, maybe the first Muslim President, despite the fact he is not actually Muslim. ... Doesn't make a lot of sense. Oh well.
If you haven't seen his inaugaration speech, then I recommend it to you. It was a brilliant speech about what he will do as President.
If you can remember my earlier post on how everyone is expecting miracles, as they are, there is also people thinking that he alone has the hope of America, and a great deal of the world, on his soldiers. he also has a great deal of tasks and goals to complete.
But it isn't his tasks. He will help with them, but everyone needs to make a difference, because he can't change America, but all of the people in America, and maybe other people in other countries, can change America. His famous line used many times during his campaign, "Yes we can", notice the we. Not I, but we.
So now that Obama is the President, the people must not carry on with their daily tasks, but also continue to help him with all of the promises that Obama made during his campaign. Obama can't make these things happen, but he can help them happen, just as everyone in America can help them happen.

Update.
Israel is hoping of a complete troop withdrawal from Gaza by the time Barack Obama's inauguration. Since the conflict may continue, it's not necessarily good news. Hopefully we will see a full stop soon. It sure seems as if most of the world wants this to stop.

Celebrate!
Sorry I was away for the weekend, but I also missed out on some brilliant news, the ceasefire in Gaza! It may start up again, but for now the bodies will stop piling up, which is enough of a reason for a celebration.
Also, the inaugaration, tomorrow, Barack Obama will officially be the first African-American President. With the 20,000 troops moving into Afghanistan, it doesn't look like things will change immediately. There is also a link with another news piece, the more jobs that are lost, the more people who will forced to find military jobs. With more military jobs, more people to be ordered. A quicker end to the war? Or will it make things even more complicated?
The Gaza war is paused, but has it reached a full stop? I think that this will resume, they're just taking a break to get more supplies and clean up Gaza. This needs to stop as quick as possible.
Russia and Ukraine have finally reached a deal. In Moscow the Russia and Ukraine Prime Minister's agreed on a deal. Ukraine will be forced to pay a little more than they did last year however. This is very good news as finally Europe can get some more fuel to keep on going and keep our homes heated. To avoid this problem in future all the world must find more resources of energy for the future. Russia does have 12 deaths on it's conscious, 12 people froze to death with insufficient energy. We hope that this deal holds, unlike the others.

Oil crisis, Gaza disaster... 2009 is looking bad already
The economy is dying, people in Gaza are dying, and oil levels in the west are dying. Happy new 2009? Not yet it isn't.
First, the economy. It's getting worse. English citizens are advised to go on holiday in England to help save the economy there. America isn't any better, before you know it the unemployment levels will reach double digits. $700 billion is being spent in America to improve the economy, but so far only half of that is being put into use.
Oil has stopped coming in from Russia and without that steady stream coming into Europe, the oil prices are getting even higher. it's time to start planning your bus routes.
And worst of all, the Gaza crisis. Over 1000 people dead. It can make you cry that a war that could of been easily prevented has taken 1000 lives. A lot of people are simply using the excuse that if someone attacks you, you would attack them. Yet if we're talking about equality, couldn't the war have stopped when 4 Gazans had been killed? It's ridiculous and must be stopped. I don't believe that the war will still be going on past January.
Military planners are now preparing for a faster Iraq withdrawal than expected. Obama has not yet requested this, but it is expected as he promised it in his campaign for President. Better to be prepared with it not happening than it happening with them unprepared.

Gaza: The unnecessary war
At the amnesty international site you can send a letter to the foreign secretary of state about how the fighting cannot go on. If you are interested, you can try one. Here as an example is the letter that I sent.
The Gaza crisis. It has been regarded by a ridiculous amount of people as Israel's right to defend themselves, people who claim this have not gathered enough information to make that claim. The war in Gaza is simply an unnecessary war made by people who aren't willing to co-operate and act like adults, but are behaving instead like little children, who are fighting over a toy.
Firstly, the rocket attacks on Israel could be solved by some simple talking. The Israelis claim the siege on Gaza started as a retaliation to the rockets, yet Hamas claim that the rocket attacks started as a retaliation to the siege. The solution should be clear. Israel stops the siege and Gaza has no choice, they must stop the rocket attacks. Problem solved.
But of course it couldn't be that simple. Israel can't lose it's pride, they think, the only choice is to launch a ground offensive to force Gaza to stop the rocket attacks. The Israeli Prime Minister thought that was the only choice.
About 900 people in Gaza have died. Most of them were innocent. 900 deaths. Well how much deaths from the rocket strikes were there? 4.
The people had to use the schools as shelters. They had no other choice. The Israel army surely wouldn't attack a school? Yet they did. They claimed there were weapons stored there that would be used against them. There wasn't.
When will anyone realise, maybe, just maybe, they might have lied? Maybe there is more to this attack than the Israel government claim?
So please, if there is anything you ca do to stop this pointless fight that has gone way too far, then do it. The quicker the war stops the better. Make things better before Gaza gets to the point where it can never get better.
